EL MONTE - A nonprofit organization dedicated to beautifying unused barren land along the county's urban rivers has received a financial boost from Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina. Molina and her colleagues recently allocated $287,000 to Amigos de los Rios for work on a portion of the Rio Hondo River Park Project, a seven-mile stretch of planned trails along the river from Peck Park in El Monte to the Bosque del Rio Hondo near Whittier Narrows.
