Pico Rivera Voters to Decide Fate of Tax Hike

PICO RIVERA - Voters will decide in November whether to give themselves a 1-percent sales-tax hike in the city, and officials say they already know how to use the $6 million in revenue the tax is expected to generate, if approved. According to City Manager Chuck Fuentes, plans to use the money are only preliminary and subject to change, but they may include borrowing up to $60 million in bonds to pay for a variety of city projects.
