WHITTIER -- A man on Friday stole $45 from a group of Boy Scouts collecting money for victims of Hurricane Katrina, according to a scout master who was there.
About 10 scouts and their leader were collecting money in 5- gallon buckets at about 5 p.m. in front of the Ralphs Grocery Co. supermarket on Whittier Boulevard near Colima Road when a young man ran up and reached into one of the buckets, snatching a wad of money, said Scout Master Bill Consterdine.See the full content of this document
