WHITTIER - Remarkable is the only way to describe the life of Frank James "Pete" Corodimas, who died here Sept. 9. He was 64.

Perhaps the most remarkable event in his life came during one of his two tours in the Vietnam War when he participated in the rescue of Army Gen. George William Casey Sr., from behind enemy lines, said Corodimas' cousin, Dan Smith, 57, of Kelso, Wash.
