WHITTIER - City officials have found ways to reduce the cost of a new police station - from an estimated $47 million down to as little as $35million.

City staff in 2002 had proposed a 75,000-square-foot station to be built between the Whittier Courthouse and the Whittier Central Library's parking lot for $47 million.
