WHITTIER - Good-humored Whittier dentist Dr. Edward (Ed) Raymond McClean, who had a talent for bringing smiles to the faces of all he met, died Aug. 28 at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital. He was 92.
His wife, Ali, said he was hospitalized after fracturing his ribs in a bathroom fall at home a few weeks ago. However, he died the night before he was to have been sent home. Dentist, Lion 'Fast Eddie' Mcclean Dead at 92
Ed was born to Bertrell and Clarence McClean who were Quaker missionaries in Holguin, Cuba. He learned to speak Spanish before English. He was one of seven children. His sister Beth is the only survivor.
