EL MONTE - After backlash from some Mountain View High School alumni, El Monte Union High School District board members have axed a proposal to rename the school after slain educator Roberto Augustin "Bobby" Salcedo.
Instead, the district will name the high school's career center in honor of the El Monte native, who was kidnapped and killed along with five others while visiting his wife's hometown of Gomez Palacio, Mexico on New Year's Eve 2009.See the full content of this document
