Huntington Hospital became the second hospital in the country to institute a Pet Assisted Therapy (P.A.T.) program 24 years ago.

Priscilla Gamb proposed the idea, the administration agreed tentatively to try out the idea, just in the Rehab Department. The first dogs were trained, bathed, and they, and their handlers, started their visits.
