Pioneer High Secures Grant

Summary


WHITTIER - Most schools are deciding where to cut expenses, but Pioneer High School officials are making plans to spend more than $1 million in new grant money to help the 1,600-student campus boost its after-school programs.

The school has received a $1.25million 21st Century Community Learning Center grant. The money came about through a conversation Principal Alex Flores had at a recent conference with a representative from a Whittier- based education coalition called LEARN (Learning, Enrichment & Academic Resources Network).
